Fourteen members attended the inaugural luncheon meeting at Bintliff’s today. Ed Smith introduced a guest, Linda Heney, Erin’s cousin from Laconia. He then kicked off happy dollars with a Christmas present… the Ogunquit Fire Department donated their old projector to us! Thanks Ed and the entire department. Amanda was happy to be present and is happy about going on vacation (further North!) George was happy to see the Littlefields in attendance. He also thanked John Clancy for heading up the preparations for the Holiday Luncheon next week. George invested a third happy dollar to note the passing of Mastanama, home chef and “world’s oldest You-tuber”, who died at age 107. Tracy was happy to be at Bintliff’s and she was looking forward to tonight’s tree-lighting in the cove with Elizabeth Ford. Richard posted a happy dollar to reminisce the day Tracy, as president, asked him to “fill in for awhile as chaplain”, a job he still holds 5 years later! Richard put in happy five to say he and Mary are glad to be in attendance again. Pete, noting that “change is good”, was glad we have resumed mid-day meetings. He also reported$132.30 in the Clynk account. John was glad to see Mary and Richard. Mary reported that the Holiday luncheon books have arrived at the library.
Tracy held the winning ticket and drew two hearts but not the ace! The pot has grown to $65.
Erin thanked Kerry for collecting rsvps and for selling 50/50 tickets in Emily’s absence. She thanked Ed Smith for shining the bell – it looks great! The club received a thank-you noted from the Ogunquit Memorial Library; the club donated $250 toward the window replacement project. York County Coast Star has selected our club for an Angel award for our beach wheelchair efforts... there will be an article in the paper in two weeks.
Reminders: Tonight is the tree-lighting in Perkins Cove… the more the merrier. Tomorrow, Saturday the 8th, is the Christmas by the Sea parade. Kerry will drive her car with the Rotary sign displayed. Be at the cove at 2:30 if you wish to join in.
Be at Jonathan’s by 11:15 for the Holiday Luncheon on Thursday. If you have not rsvp’d John or Connie, please do so now.
We’ll do a Yankee Swap ($15) at our December 21 meeting in two weeks.
