The Rotary Club of
Ogunquit

Recap of Thursday, October 16, 2025 Meeting
We had a sparse turnout yet ample camaraderie on this chilly fall day. Susan filled in for Rick who was away for a medical appointment. Ed Smith led the Four Way Test. For the moment of gratitude Bob Cruickshank pointed to the Israeli-Palestinian peace accord with hope that it will last.

Barbara helpfully collected happy dollars. Ed Smith is happy about the good sleeping that comes with cool fall nights. Ray is going to visit his daughter and grandchildren in Cincinnati. Brenda liked Jim’s red shoes. (I wish I had more to say on the matter.) Dr. Joe again was thankful that his grandson Noah visited to assist with stowing canoes for the winter. Bob and Cheryl will be heading to The Villages soon. Winter well Bob! Barbara also will be leaving for Florida soon but not before she again helps out with Ogunquitfest next weekend.

Here’s Pete’s CLYNK report,
“We've been turning into CLYNK so many bottles and cans,
That now we're almost to sixty thousand!
And our account was up over $750,
So it's time to say our Wows, and...
Keep up the good work!”

Ray had the key ticket but drew the 6 of clubs and 5 of spades. The ace of hearts remains somewhere in the shrinking deck!

Susan provided some background info on Stay: For Life and Trent’s Tree. The board recommended donating $500 in support of Trent’s Tree in Perkins Cove this December. Today, members unanimously approved the expenditure.

Brenda told of being inspired to join Rotary in 1989 upon learning of Rotary’s commitment to the world-wide eradication of polio. Today she asked members to contribute to Polio Plus in connection with World Polio Day on October 24. She can award Polio Plus Society pins to those who donate at least $100. The board approved matching member’s donations up to $50. Those who donate directly to Polio Plus online should notify Eric for the club’s match. Donations should be made prior to January 1, 2026.

The club will sell bread at Ogunquitfest on Saturday, October 25.

Our holiday luncheon at Jonathan’s for Ogunquit seniors and Wells-Ogunquit 5th graders is scheduled for Thursday, December 11.

Respectfully,

Ed Seppa
