This was a very special meeting. It’s not every day that a member celebrates a 90th birthday! With us were Richard’s daughter, Jan Kearns, her husband, Tim, and their sons, Josh and Jeremy, all from South Dakota. Jyoti’s husband, Mike Jones, also was on hand. We had the pleasure of Vickie Russell’s company as well.
Ed Smith led us in a thank you to Norm for the fine food and Bintliff hospitality.
Many happy birthday dollars flowed in from Pete, Tracy, Kerry Ellen, Vickie, Elizabeth Ford, Emily, Ed Seppa, Jyoti, and Elizabeth Cutler.
Richard himself was delighted by his family’s long-distance visit. Tim expressed his family’s pleasure in being in town to celebrate with Richard. Heath thanked those who helped decorate the tree in Perkin’s Cove. Tracy warned us that her nephew is a legal driver! She also delivered a happy $25 from Jane Woodruff who stopped by the camera shop to express her family’s appreciation for the use of a beach wheelchair last summer. Emily happily reported celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary. In addition, her son selflessly helped shop for the Spirit of Giving. Susan’s granddaughter was delighted to have snow for snow angels. Jyoti thanked Heath for the tree in the cove. Elizabeth Cutler was appreciative of her private lunch date!
Pete reported in rhyme…
We’re back, and up there – over 100;
One thirteen forty is more exact.
Thanks for your continuous support, folks
It’s an accomplishment, and that’s a fact!
Emily reviewed the schedule for Christmas by the Sea. Erin ordered the smores goodies for the Firepit at 5:30 and tree-lighting at 6:30 on Friday evening. Line up for the parade on Saturday at 2:30.
John Clancy reminded all to be at Jonathan’s by 11:15 this Thursday for the annual holiday luncheon.
The board of directors will meet at Jonathan’s immediately after the holiday luncheon on Thursday.
The meeting finale featured a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” and servings of delicious birthday cake all around!
