Tina Forton of Bourne Bed and Breakfast stopped by again to learn more about our club. We had two other guests. Meredith Anderson and Marc Boissonneault came to talk to us about the Southern Maine Agency on Aging. Because Rick was away at the president-elect leadership seminar in Massachusetts, Alice led the meeting. After the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, Dr. Joe offered some thoughts for the message of gratitude. He expressed deep appreciation for everything that Rotary means in his life. Pete led in us the recitation of the Four Way Test. You betcha!

 

Heidi was very happy that her friend’s kidney removal surgery was successful. I was happy because Carol and I were later in the day headed with an adult-ed group to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Eileen enjoyed a couple of weeks in Florida and also is happy that she is winning her bout with bursitis. Eric helped his daughter in her recent move to Bristol RI. Eric looks forward to visiting there in warmer weather. Elizabeth Cutler is very excited about the birth of a new great-nephew. Erin was joyful about winning a back-yard smoker at the Après-ski event at Crew last month. She is more joyful about her upcoming trip to Aruba for some R and R. Ed Smith is happy that warmer weather is on the way. Susan and her five sisters are going to Boston this weekend for a 70th birthday celebration of one of the sisters. Jim Anliot and his wife will be in New York City this weekend for three shows! Heath returned from a restful vacation on a cruise in the Gulf of Mexico with an interesting tale. The cruise ship encountered a vessel in distress bearing people fleeing Cuba. The eleven migrants were taken aboard, treated medically and turned over to Mexican authorities in Cozumel. Alice is happy that we adjust our clocks this weekend. Her daughter is visiting as part of her preparations for running the Newport Marathon in April. According to the Pete, “Wherever Spring is hiding now,
   We shall see it soon,
And CLYNK is now gaining fast,
   Expanding just like a balloon!”

Elizabeth Cutler introduced Meredith and Marc (photos below) to tell us about the Southern Maine Agency on Aging in Biddeford. Meredith, the community outreach director, explained that the organization, which serves Cumberland and York counties, provides resources, services and information to empower older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers to live to their fullest potential.Marc, as a long-time volunteer at the agency, provided some details about the personal care that is taken in dealing with clients needs. The speaker at our next club meeting on March 20 will be Sherry Anderson of the guidance department at Wells High School.
