Five guests joined in today. Jim Anliot is new to Ogunquit and is interested in Rotary. Jan Kearns, Richard’s daughter, is visiting from South Dakota. Tyler McOsker, Ogunquit code enforcement officer, is applying for membership. Vickie Russell, Dr. Joe’s better half, accompanied him. Steve Wilkos, former Ogunquit Rotarian, also is applying for membership.

 

For the message of gratitude, Susan wrote,

 

“With an attitude of gratitude, 

I start my day.

When my feet hit the ground,

I know I have enough to go around.

As we break bread together, we need to recall our similarities that make us one,

and leave behind the thoughts and ideas that threaten to steal our sun.

Let us reflect that our motto, ‘Service Before Self,’ 

Is the light that we carry to everyone.”

 

Susan also noted the words of Maya Angelou, who said, “This is a lovely day, I’ve never seen it before!”

 

Alice, presiding in Heath’s absence, shared some nice thoughts as she led us in reciting the 4-Way Test.

 

Larry is headed to Nashville and a visit to Ryman Auditorium. Larry implored members to complete the Facilities and Space Needs survey before 5:00 pm on Tuesday. Pete and Elizabeth explained the work of the Stars for Our Troops organization. Dr. Joe and Vickie are ecstatic that Trudy, their cat, has been sleeping through the night. Jan’s visit made Richard happy. Rick, who arranged the day’s tasty lunch from R&R, was just plain happy. Matt was delighted to have helped at the senior center last Saturday. Tracy auctioned off a movie-and-dinner package for PolioPlus. Kerry took it home with her bid of $75. Thank you, Tracy and Kerry!

 

Susan is organizing a movie night at Flagship Cinema this coming Wednesday. Films showing that night include: 80 for Brady, A Man Called Otto, The Whale, and others.
