The Rotary Club of
Ogunquit

Recap of Thursday, March 20, 2025
We packed the dining room at Perkins Cove Kitchen on this first day of Spring. Assistant District Governor Pam Gray joined us. Tina Fortin visited again, this time handing us her application to join the club! And Sherri Anderson of the Wells High School guidance department stopped by to provide information about college scholarships.

After the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, I offered some words for the moment of gratitude. Quoting Frank Bruni’s thoughts on the beauty of a sunset, I segued to thanking Rick Barber for the many fine photos of sunrises he has shared.

Connie shared an interesting lost-dog story; it ended well. George’s granddaughter Sophia is opening a clothing shop in Tokyo. Ed Smith delighted in telling us that the pair of geese that reside on his pond showed up two days early for spring. Pam Gray was pleased to have been part of Northeast Presidents-elect Learning Seminar. The event featured an appearance by the incoming Rotary International president Mário César Martins de Camargo, a member of the Rotary Club of Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil.

Pete added,

“So Spring is finally here,
For that let's give a cheer! Hear, Hear!
Now--keep on filling those ole CLYNKbags,
You know--the ones with our own special CLYNKtags!

We now have $599.60 in the account.”

Jim Anliot, the chair of our scholarship committee, introduced Sherri Anderson (photo below) who told us how the information about the availability of scholarships is shared with Wells High School seniors. She also delved into the guidance that school administrators provide to seniors in helping them enhance the quality of their essays of application.

Rick led us in a round of applause for the staff of Perkins Cove Kitchen in appreciation of the fine food, great service, and superb ambiance we've enjoyed this  winter.
