Today we elected officers for the 2025-26 Rotary Year, and we voted to meet at Perkins Cove Kitchen from January through March.
After the pledge of allegiance recitation, Brenda shared a moment of gratitude for all who made Ogunquit Rotary’s participation in Christmas by the Sea merry and bright. Rick expressed thanks to all for all the help also on the holiday luncheon at Jonathan’s. Pete led us in the recitation of the Four-Way Test; you betcha!
Many folks contributed happy dollars to share happy holiday sentiments of one sort or another. We sang “Happy Birthday” to Ed Smith who just turned 89! Eric was happy that his family has recovered from the colds they shared at Thanksgiving last month. Ray’s first cataract procedure went well; one more to go. Erin’s daughter Lexi ended her service in the U.S. Navy and now resides stateside in Virginia. Rick enjoyed seeing “Frozen” at The Music Hall in Portsmouth. He also expressed thanks to all who contributed to the Spirit of Giving.
Heath came oh so close to drawing the ace of hearts; you might ask him about that. The pot is getting big!
Rick has offered to serve a second consecutive term as president and Susan has volunteered to be secretary next year. There were no additional nominations. The outcome of the secret ballot for 2025-26 officers is: President – Rick Barber, and Secretary – Susan DeQuattro. The positions of treasurer, president-elect, and president-nominee remain vacant at this time. Heath shared some remarks in which he encouraged members to consider signing up for those positions.
The club also considered the question of location for our January-March meetings. One option was the Dunaway Center. The other was Perkins Cove Kitchen. Again, by secret ballot, Perkins Cove Kitchen was selected.
Fifteen members participated in the Yankee Swap and a fun time was had by all.
